update 24 september 2025...

Not much to report on since my last update two years ago — at least not in the way of noteworthy changes to my free time — though I did actually publish a post the other day (on "PEMDAS," of all things).

So, I figured I'd stick a disclaimer here to say that, should I manage to continue posting here and there, you should expect my output to be a mismatched hodgepodge of whatever random thing happened to come across my mind at any given point in time. As much as I'd love to sit down and focus on a series of posts that build on themselves, I'm quite confident that won't happen for a long time.

In other news, it's looking more likely that I'll have to move this blog away from Ghost eventually anyway: There are just too many custom things I'd like to have, and implementing my own niche blog engine will be quicker than forking one whose codebase is largely unfamiliar to me.

Translation: Dude can't even find the time to write a blog post here and there, but plans to code a blog engine with which to blog. Hold your breath, everyone!

(In fairness though, I'd need to move this blog to a new server anyway. Writing pseudonymously for privacy while hosting your blog on the same server as your family newsletter is kind of an OPSEC 101-level fail; you know?)

But, yeah; come back in like 2037 and there might be stuff here! And "here" might be somewhere else.

update 06 september 2023...

Sooooo... it occurred to me today that I set up this server more than a year ago at this point and have done exactly nothing with it yet.

That's largely because life got pretty busy when @kitten and I decided to merge our households back in autumn; and, given how thoroughly "apartment life" sucks, I've spent virtually every waking moment since April looking for a decent plot of land on which we can homestead.

We finally found something nice a little ways outside of Kutztown last month: settlement is the first week of October. (And then, you know, we just have to... have a house built. No biggie. They can typically crank one of those out over a weekend; right?)

So anyway... yeah. That's largely the reason there's nothing published here yet: Linux and anarchy and other noble pursuits have had to take a backseat to land- and house-shopping for the past six months—which is pretty much just like car-shopping on steroids, with 800x the stress. Excellent good fun.

Definitely hoping to be done with all of it sooner rather than later; and then, maybe I'll get around to posting something interesting here.
